What Does a Person Say To Someone Whom They've Ripped The Heart Out Of?

I've been trying for over 2 years to get in touch with my birth daughter's birth father. I've sent numerous letters to his mother, but got all of the letters back but one. I sent letters to him at a 'last known address' for him. I didn't get that back.

A Box of Letters, Family Secrets, and a Bit of History

Today I received a box from my cousin Judy, who lives in Colorado. The box was filled with neatly stacked letters that my father and mother had both written to Judy's mother, my Aunt Ruth. There were also some pictures placed in a small bubble-wrap envelope.
